Attribute And-Or Grammar for Joint Parsing of Human Attributes, Part and Pose

چکیده
This paper presents an attribute and-or grammar (A-AOG) model for jointly inferring human body pose and human attributes in a parse graph with attributes augmented to nodes in the hierarchical representation. In contrast to other popular methods in the current literature that train separate classifiers for poses and individual attributes, our method explicitly represents the decomposition and articulation of body parts, and account for the correlations between poses and attributes. The A-AOG model is an amalgamation of three traditional grammar formulations: (i) Phrase structure grammar representing the hierarchical decomposition of the human body from whole to parts; (ii) Dependency grammar modeling the geometric articulation by a kinematic tree of the body pose; and (iii) Attribute grammar accounting for the compatibility relations between different parts in the hierarchy so that their appearances follow a consistent style. The parse graph outputs human detection, pose estimation, and attribute prediction simultaneously, which are intuitive and interpretable. We conduct experiments on two tasks on two datasets, and experimental results demonstrate the advantage of joint modeling in comparison with computing poses and attributes independently. Furthermore, our model obtains better performance over existing methods for both pose estimation and attribute prediction tasks.

متن کاملAn improved joint model: POS tagging and dependency parsing
Dependency parsing is a way of syntactic parsing and a natural language that automatically analyzes the dependency structure of sentences, and the input for each sentence creates a dependency graph. Part-Of-Speech (POS) tagging is a prerequisite for dependency parsing. Generally, dependency parsers do the POS tagging task along with dependency parsing in a pipeline mode. Unfortunately, in pipel...
متن کاملA hardware multi-pass attribute grammar evaluator
Attribute grammars (AGs) were introduced by Knuth in 1968. The addition of attributes and semantic rules to Context Free Grammars (CFG), augmented their expressional capabilities, making them, by this way, a really useful tool for a considerable number of applications. However, the additional complexity imposed by the added characteristics, dictates the need for hardware solutions for the whole...
متن کاملA Latent Clothing Attribute Approach for Human Pose Estimation
As a fundamental technique that concerns several vision tasks such as image parsing, action recognition and clothing retrieval, human pose estimation (HPE) has been extensively investigated in recent years. To achieve accurate and reliable estimation of the human pose, it is well-recognized that the clothing attributes are useful and should be utilized properly. Most previous approaches, howeve...
متن کاملStrictness Analysis for Attribute Grammars
Attribute grammars may be seen as a (rather specialised) lazy or demand-driven programming language. The “programs” in this language take text or parse trees as input and return values of the synthesised attributes to the root as output. From this observation we establish a framework for abstract interpretation of attribute grammars. The framework is used to construct a strictness analysis for ...
